First Trike

I have been saying that I wanted to get a trike for B for his birthday but haven't taken the plunge to purchase it yet. While my parents were in town they took that step for us and decided that they wanted to get it as an early birthday present. My mom and I went shopping the night before while the boys were in bed so B had no idea.

Day 1. Woke up to a nice big box. Right after breakfast the boys settled down to start putting it together. B was a big helper stealing the bolts and running away with them. :) Notice that my dad is reading the instructions... amazing!

First test run was a success! He loved it!
Man those 10 feet of riding can get you exhausted "better carry the bike home grandpa"

Day 2 The grandparents got a little paranoid about head injuries so there was no more riding until they purchased a helmet.
Now he's ready to roll and having a ton of fun.

Okay this trike thing can really suck the life out of a kid. I think you need to carry it again grandpa.
A boy and his first trike. It feels a bit like a right of passage. He has been trying to ride a little each day although we are lucky if we make it out of the driveway, but I suppose that's better than having to chase him down the street with Asher in my arms.

The Oregon Gardens

W refusing to sit down had my mama laughing so hard

Grandpa trying to convince B to go through the Hobbit hole. What a trooper.
B still not convinced

Life is back to our little routine now that my parents are gone. I am pretty sad it was so nice having family around, and the extra help with the boys and the house was worth gold! We didn't do a whole lot this visit  but we did manage to enjoy the weather one day and head out to the Oregon Gardens. Boy was it worth it! It is beautiful and the boys loved it.
We spent the majority of our time in the children's garden while B played in the sand pit, refused to go through the Hobbit house. And of coarse was amazed at the model train area.  We walked around a little after that and ate a quick lunch before heading home to put the boys down for their naps. Perfect timing!

Like I mentioned it was really great having family around, I sometimes block out how much I actually miss them (it's easier that way) but these pictures remind me of just how lucky my kids are to have two amazing sets of grandparents in their lives. They are so loved by them all and I am so lucky to be able to capture these little memories. Now I can't wait until July when my in laws come! Even more memories to share... (and confession, I am looking forward to the help too) :)

Happy Birthday Bubbie in the box

I am a day late with this post, but I wanted to say Happy Birthday to our sweet little Bubbie in the box.  You are an awesome woman. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and I can honestly say my boys are pretty lucky to have you as their bubbie. (p.s. Their wardrobe is pretty lucky too) Thank you for always listening to my rants and raves and making even my smallest trials not sound totally silly. You are so awesome and I hope you have a great year. We love you.

P.s. These pictures didn't really go as planned :)

Instagram

Yup! I jumped on the instagram wagon (cuteandpeculiar) and I must say it's pretty addicting.
In other news my parents are in town and the boys are loving it. I mean these kids get praised for coughing when my parents are around:). Plus I have to admit it is so awesome having help with the boys I managed to cook dinner last night without a single meltdown. I will definitely be enjoying the next few days.

park picnic

Exploring. Getting a little  more independent each day.

On Sunday we decided to take the whole gang out grab some lunch and head to Bush Park for a little family fun. Plus a certain toddler was getting a little stir crazy being stuck in the house and needed a good run. On the way to the park husband turned into an office building parking lot. I was a little confused it seemed like a pretty horrible spot to have a picnic. But when I looked I discovered it was a tiny little park with sweet benches and even a creek running through it. Ironically it seemed perfect :) We ate and let B explore a bit. We even got to see the cutest little duck mama and her ducklings that weren't the least bit shy. B even walked behind them when they got out of the water. It was so cute.
And speaking of cute, look at that happy face from W! He was having just as much fun! He loves his papa so much.

The {Breastfeeding} Initiative Giveaway

We are hosting a giveaway on The {Breastfeeding} Initiative facebook page. Come check it out.

I am a pretty big Boppy fan myself. Not only because it really helped during those ever essential first few weeks of breastfeeding when you are still trying to get the hang of things. But because it was the only way Bear would do tummy time for more than ten seconds and Wolf pretty much loved longing in it until he was able to sit up on his own.

Now Bear uses it as a mini seat when watching t.v. It's pretty cool to have a product that evolves as your kids grow.

Please check out the giveaway and good luck!

Here's a little proof of what I was talking about.

four years ago

Four years ago I had the privilege to say yes to not only marring the man I love but also saying yes to spending the rest of my life with my best friend.
Four years, three moves and two babies and here we are.

Loving these boys

During mother's day I totally forgot to mention just how much I enjoy being a mama to these beautiful boys. I feel so blessed to have them in my life.

Wolf and Bear water play

The weather has been amazing these days  and we took advantage of it as well as the boys being well rested. I took them out to the backyard and set up a little water station for them. I was so excited because it was Wolf's first time doing anything like this. They both had so much fun! Although there were a few little bumps along the way since Wolf has all of a sudden become quite the toy hoarder. (you take a kid on a  trip by himself and he thinks he own the place now) Once toys were evenly distributed all was well. I set up the hose for a little and Bear was in heaven giving his trains a bath. Dresses and sandal have officially come out.

Home sweet home

I am back to my regularly scheduled program today. Back to two sets of diaper changes, dinner cooking, and meltdown fixer. I seem to have brought some Southern California weather with me because it is HOT!

The heat isn't all bad I was able to hang a line in the backyard to sun my diapers. Here's a little childhood memory for you,  my family didn't own a dryer for most of my childhood my mom hung up all our clothes in the backyard. Kinda feeling a little extra happy with this little scene :)

Mami

I spent the weekend in California with my family to pay our last respects to my grandmother. It was a very emotional weekend filled with a lot of tears but also a some very sweet memories shared by all. It made me not only reevaluate myself as a mother but also a daughter. I am the daughter of two very selfless people. They are the purest examples of what it means to me a good son/daughter up until the very end with both my grandmothers. It made me think " have I truly honored my mother and father to the best of my abilities?" let me stop here and explain that perfection in not what I am striving for nor am I thinking that my parents aren't proud of me because they have and always will be proud of me for simply being alive:). (I can only pray that I am able to give my children that much confidence in my love for them) but truly been there for them now in an adult relationship? Listening to them and finding out who they are aside from my parents. I feel that this weekend I attempted to do just that enjoy my parents for who they are support them in the way I know how and truly listen to them. I am so honored to know my mother not only for being my mother but for being one of the strongest people I will ever know.

One tiny person makes more tiny people

This tiny women who gave birth to my father, who help make me, who is now a mother of two boys herself. It is amazing just how fast a family can grow and all from this little women.
I give thank to the Lord for allowing me to meet her  without her our family would not be what it is. Thank you abuelita for helping make our family what it is. You will be missed.

Peace

John 14:27 "Peace I give to you, My peace I give to you: not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful

I am resting in the scripture lately. There will be a little silence in the blog for the next week as I am flying back home to spend some time with my family.
