We love the library

Yesterday we decided to make it a field trip day. We have been stuck in the house for a while now and with the the forecast warning of 100 degree weather yesterday we were desperate to find refuge from the heat.

We hit the library after breakfast. All was normal. We were finding new friends to play with, B found a compilation book of four Richard Scarry books in one. (He loves  those books) but something happened that turned our outing from a nice one to a FANTASTIC one.

There in the middle of the children's section of the library W took his first official steps. Four tiny wobbly ones with a look in his eye of sheer joy and determination.  As one can imagine my library voice went out the window for the moments, as I couldn't help but cheer him on. That little look on his face was so priceless and it is one of those things that I hope to never forget.

We made it home with some pretty good loot and we loved our time there so much that we went back this morning for story time.

1,2,3, to the zoo

We had a bit of a last minute change of plans for B's second birthday since it seems that the first idea is a bust. But we promised  him a "choo choo"and  that is just what he is going to get. Lucky for us the zoo has a pretty awesome train ride. And lucky for me who just loves book themed birthdays Eric Carle has just the book to combine a zoo trip and a train ride. I am slightly relived that I only have a week to plan this. I may have gone a bit over board otherwise. I am so excited!

Still in the works

So after I very busy day getting myself organized I was only able to photograph these little guys tonight.  (Where does the time go?)  Well at least you get a little sneak peek of what's in store.

This book was re published in 1966 but the actual book as made in the 1950's which explains the adorable nostalgic illustrations it even has one of my favorite stories in it. Peter Rabbit.  Oh so cute!!! <3  

And this cutie is a 1970's sewing books. I don't think it gets better than that.  The book itself is very informative and really can  help you learn, but it's okay to just like it for the pictures.
